Millions of people dying worldwide by sudden cardiac arrest every year - the no. 1 cause of death. To be able to find out where a defibrillator is located can save someones life in an medical emergency.
The mission of the Defi Now! iPhone App is to make the information about surrounding defibrillators available to everyone. An automatic external defibrillator (AED) is build to be used by lays and is absolutely safe, works full automatically and is not able to harm the patient.
In a sudden cardiac arrest the propability of survival is reduced by 10% every minute if nobody is helping with CPR. The knowledge of a public AED only a street further would maybe make the difference between surviving and death. An ambulance arrives rarly within 10 minutes.
Features:
- AED locations can be viewed and selected via map or list
- up to three high resolution photos of the AED are available to be able to find it as quick as possible: a close shot, a panorama shot and a building/emergency-plan
- routing from the actual position to the choosen AED for walker and car driver
- automatic emergency call and AED sign recognition for the actual country
- consideration of opening hours of half-public AED locations such as shopping malls or stores
- differs between verified and none-verified AED locations
